As a prize-winning garden photographer, I set out to capture fleeting beauty through my camera’s lens. You could say that I’m on a quest to capture the delicate interplay of colours, shapes and textures unique to each of the gardens I visit.
With an appreciation for the ever-changing dance of light and shadow, I aim to reveal the hidden stories woven into every garden design. From the serene tranquillity of a misty morning to the vibrant explosion of hues during the height of a summer’s day, my challenge is to evoke a sense of wonder and reverence for these enchanting gardens through photography.
For decades I have been passionate about photography. I first started out processing film in the traditional dark room and then pivoted to processing images digitally. It’s been a fascinating journey, learning about new techniques and technologies all the time, and putting them into practice whenever I step into a new garden.
I currently split my time between homes in Spain and the UK, where I juggle the demands of creating, maintaining and, of course, photographing my own very different gardens. Wherever I am, whether in Europe or further afield, I always find time to take time out from my own garden commitments to photograph and visit as many other gardens as I can.
My latest images appear on Instagram, and my garden features and other portfolio images are available here on this website. I also provide all the garden photography for the La Corolla Garden website.
As for the all-important hardware, I look no further than Canon, my go-to cameras being my trusty 5DSR and 1DX Mark II (and more lenses than I care to mention).
I’m always keen to discover gardens new to me, particularly the private creations of passionate individuals. So, if your garden fits the bill and you’re interested in having it photographed, I’d love to hear from you.
