On the outskirts of Philadelphia, Stoneleigh is a truly unique proposition. A traditional country estate recently gifted to a land conservation charity, it is slowly undergoing a process of de-construction. Formal design is gradually being softened by a carefully curated blend of local and exotic species with one aim: to increase and protect biodiversity. A variety of habitats have been created – from prairie-style meadow to bog garden, from woodland to water - all without compromising one bit on the quality of planting or the care given to each individual area and its inhabitants (both flora and fauna) by the horticultural team.
